A month-by-month account of British festivals, red-letter days and customs. Some well known - and some more obscure. From 'burning the Clavie' in Burghead on the Moray in January to 'once in every Preston Guild' in September. I never knew about the Red Hose Race in Carnwath, Lanarkshire. This book also covers all the well-known traditional days that we have come to know and love. My copy has a hardcover, with 300 pps. There are several black and white plates
